Shiraz Grenache

A wine to be enjoyed with food. Both the nose and palate have a blackberry character. There is a sweet middle palate and the soft savoury aromatic character of the Grenache is obvious at the finish.

Vintages:

Fox Creek 2001 Shiraz Grenache

appearance
Bright rim with a medium intensity plum core.

bouquet
The blackberry character is apparent with hints of raspberry and cherry. The Shiraz component of the wine will be exhibited more as a young wine and the savoury and aromatic character of the Grenache will start to develop slowly.

palate
The entry is that of a blackberry core of fruit from the Shiraz and this develops more in the mouth to give a softer, sweeter raspberry-like character. There is a sweet middle palate that shows strong fruit. However the finish of the wine has a dry satisfying appeal. A wine such as this begs for consumption with food to be best enjoyed.

winemaking
The blend in this wine is 60% Shiraz and 40% Grenache.
